C.P. Preval enlisted February 1, 1863 in Augusta with Capt. Russell. Pvt. Preval was with the 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry, Co. A until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. A, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.
Pvt. Preval was wounded on June 11, 1864. No details but it probably happened during the Battle of Trevillian Station.
Pvt. C.P. Preval was paroled May 8, 1865 at Athens.
