D.G. Story enlisted May 8, 1862 at Augusta with Capt. Russell. Pvt. Story was in Co. A, 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. A, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.
Pvt. Story was wounded Auguat 23rd at Reams Station, Va. No hospital records except for him receiving clothing issue from General Hospital, Kittrell Springs, N.C. on September 10, 1864.
