E.L. Bird Served in Co. D. 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry and attained rank of Jr.2nd Lt.
With the consolidation of units he transferred to Company B, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.
Then, Pvt. Bird, was wounded on June 11,1864 during the Battle of Trevillian Station and was transported to
the Exchange Hotel, Gordonsville, Va. which had been converted to a Receiving Hospital where he died on June 20, 1864.
