Alexander C. Rogers enlisted June 10, 1862 at Savannah with Capt Miller. Cpl. Rogers served in the 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry, Co. C until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. B, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.

Cpl. Rogers was captured June 11, 1864 during the Battle of Trevillian Station. He was sent to Fortress Monroe,Va. on June 20th, moved to Point Lookout, Md. and on July 25th was transferred to Elmira Prison, N.Y.

Cpl. Alexander Rogers died on January 23, 1865 at Elmira of remittent fever. He was buried in grave # 1588.
