J.H. Randolph enlisted July 24, 1863 in Hall County with Lt. Buffington. Pvt. Randolph was with the 24th Battalion, Georgia Cavalry, Co.C until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. D, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.
Pvt. Randolph was present on roll calls through October. He was admitted at Jackson Hospital on November 6th, diagnosed with diarrhoea and febris (fever). He returned to duty on November 14th.
