Israel E. Kessler enlister August 9, 1862 in Savannah. He was in Co. B, 21st Battalion, Ga Cav until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. E, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.
Pvt. George Kessler was present at roll call through October with the exception of a short sickness in hospital in August '64. He had a clothing issue in the late fall of 1864.
