C.M. Crossley enlisted June 10, 1863 in Greene County, Ga. in Co. E, 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry and was transferred to Co. F, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry February 13, 1864.

Pvt. Crossley was wounded at Trevillian Station, Va. on June 11, 1864. One bullet passed through his right leg below the knee and another through the left foot.

He was near Chester, S.C. on his way back to his command from his wounded furlough when Gnl. Lee and command surrendered.
