A.J. Davis enlisted February 1, 1863 at Thunderbolt with Col. Gordon with the 63rd Regiment, Georgia Vols. Davis served there until April 17, 1864 when he transferred to Co. G, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry by order of Brig. General Mercer.
The records from the 7th shows that Pvt. Davis was present on all roll calls through October '64. He was without a horse in October.
