David Hamilton enlisted September 22, 1862 at Waynesville with Capt. Hopkins. Pvt. Hamilton served in the 24th Battalion, Georgia Cavalry, Co. A until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. G, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.
Pvt. David Hamilton was wounded with a gunshot and was sent to Gordansville Hospital, Va. He died at the hospital July 9, 1964.
