W.H. Edwards enlisted July 13, 1863 in Bryan County with Capt. J.L. McAllister. He served in Company B, Hardwick Mounted Rifles until he was transferred through consolidation of units. With this change, Co. B of HMR became Co. H of the 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.
Pvt. Edwards was absent without leave for 4 days in April, no punishment. There after he was present. He had one short stay in a Hospital in May...no details.
