E.A. Fulton enlisted December 18, 1862 in Bryan County. He served with the Hardwick Mounted Rifles and as the unit grew he was assigned to Company B. When the units were consolidated, Co. B of the HMR became Company H of the 7th Georgia Cavalry.

Sgt. Fulton was captured near Trevillian Station June 11, 1864. He was sent to Fortress Monroe June 20th and was transferred to Elmira Prison, N.Y. on July 25, 1864.

E.A. Fulton was released June 21, 1865. His description: residence, Gressville ? (Glennville); complexion, florid; hair, dark; eyes, hazel; height, 5 feet 91/2 inches.
