Warren Shuman enlisted April 3, 1862 in Bryan County. He was in Co. A, Hardwick Mounted Rifles until February 13, 1864 when the 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry was organized through consolidation, Co. A of the HMR was then Co. K of the 7th.
Pvt. Shuman was sick in the hospital in May of '64 in N.C. Otherwise he was present until the end of the war, when he surrendered at Appomattox with the remainder of the 7th and General Lee, April 9, 1865.
