William C. Beal enlisted in the 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry, Company A on November 1, 1862 at Augusta with Capt. Russell. He served with the 21st until February 13, 1864 when, through consolidation, the 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry was established.
When in the 7th, Beal was in Company A. He was listed as being present until August 1864 at which time he was detailed to a Recruiting Camp at Lynchburg, Va. He received a clothing issue in late fall of 1864.
