Louis L. Force of Augusta, enlisted May 8, 1862 at Augusta with Capt. Russell. He served in Co. A, 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry and was transferred to Co. A, 7th Georgia Cavalry when it was organized on February 13, 1864.

Sgt. Force was captured during the battle at Trevillian Station on June 11, 1864. He was first sent to Point Look, Md. and then moved to Elmira Prison, N.Y. where he remained until June 21, 1865.

When released, Louis L. Force was listed with the following description: Complexion, Fair; Hair, Dark; eyes, Blue; Height 5' 8".
