C.B. Maronay (Maroney) enlisted with Capt. Russell at Charleston on February 1, 1863 in Co. A, of the 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry. With the consolidation of units, Pvt. Maronay was transferred to Co. A, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry on February 13, 1864.

In June of 1863 it is shown that he was paid for the use of his horse, $24. In August of 1863, he was listed as present but sick in camp.

During the battle of Trevillian station, Pvt. C.B. Maronay was captured and imprisoned at Elmira N.Y. He was released on oath May 15, 1865.
