J.W. Moore Enlisted August 1, 1863 at Augusta with Capt. Russell. Pvt. Moore served with the 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry, Co. A until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. A, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.

Pvt. Moore was present on Roll calls with the exception of June 8 through June 14, '64 when he was diagnosed as felons of hands (acute pain of deep tissues).

Records through the Examining Board had Pvt. Moore with them at Augusta in March '65. The Examining Board stated theat he would never be able to perform his duties and recommended a 60 day furlough and then to exmaine him again. Of course the war ended in April .
