He was captured June 11, 1865 near Louisa Courthouse, Va. and was sent to Fortress Monroe on June 20th, then on July 25 he was transferred to Elmira Prison, N.Y.
Pvt. John C. Perrin survived the stay at Elmira and was paroled and released June 21, 1865. The description that went with the parole follows: residence, Augusta; complexion, dark; hair, dark; eyes, hazel; height, 5 feet 10 inches.
