James N. Alderman enlisted with Capt. Miller in Co. C, 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry May 15, 1862 in Savannah. He was transferred to Co. B, 7th Georgia Cavalry when it was organized February 13, 1864.
Pvt. Alderman's records show where he drew clothing in April 1864 and again in December 1864. He served with the 7th for the duration of the war and surrendered along with General Lee on April 9, 1865.
