J.B. Conner enlisted December 15, 1862 at Charleston with Capt. Miller. Pvt. Conner served in Co. C of the 21st Battalion. Georgia Cavalry until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. B, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.

Pvt. Conner was present on all rolls from January through April 1964. In the May/August roll he was listed as absent, sick in hospital. The same was true on the September/October roll. Conner received a clothing issue sometime in the late fall of 1864.
