Augustus O. Edwards enlisted in Company C, 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry April 1863 in Chatham County, Ga.

He was transferred to Co. B, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry through consolidation February 13, 1864.

Edwards was captured in Virginia June 1864, sent to Point lookout and then to Elmira Prison, N.Y.

Pvt. Augustus Edwards was released after the close of the war.
