George W. Perkins enlisted May 15, 1862 at Savannah with Capt. Miller. Sgt. Perkins served in the 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry, Co. C until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. B, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.

Sgt. Perkins was listed as present on roll calls through May '64. He was captured June 11th near Trevillian Station, Va. and was sent to Fortress Monroe on June 20th and transferred to Point Lookout, Md.

Perkins was selected for exchange and was transferred to Aikens Landing, Va. for exchange which took place March 14, 1865.

Sgt. George W. Perkins surrendered and was paroled at Augusta May 18, 1865.
