Enlisted as a private in Co. C, 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry May 25, 1862.

Transferred to Co. B, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry February 13, 1864. Then on February 20, 1864 transferred to Co. G, 57th Regiment Georgia Infantry.

He left command, sick, in March of 1864 and thought to have died soon thereafter.
