N.S. Wallace enlisted April 15, 1862 at Tybee Island, Ga. with Capt. Miller. Pvt. Wallace served in Co. C, 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. B, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.

In April, just prior to leaving to Northern Virginia, Pvt. Wallace was absent for 18 days without leave. After this he was present on all roll calls through October and apparently for the remainder of the war, considering he surrendered at Lynchburg, Va. April 13, 1865.
