F.M. Willson enlisted June 13, 1862 in Elbert County. No records as to what unit he may have been in prior to the 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry .

Pvt. Willson was Wagon Master and was present on roll calls through April 1864.

On May 16, 1864, Pvt. F.M. Willson died of an unknown disease at Columbia, S.C. His wife was legal representative. His effects of $88.75 were turned over to the Quartermaster.
