L.M. Bradford enlisted October 14, 1863 at Camp Lee, Ga. with Capt. R.H. Wylly. He served in Company C of the 24th Battalion, Georgia Cavalry until the 7th Regiment was created through consolidation. At this time the Co. C of the 24th became Company D of the 7th.

Pvt. Bradford was promoted from the ranks to 4th Cpl. on April 16, 1864. He continued receiving promotions that carried him to Sergeant probably in November 1864.

Sgt. Bradford was without horse beginning May 24, 1864 and continued to September and probably longer.
