W. Edwards enlisted July 19, 1862 in Pierce County. He was in Company B and then Co. C of the 24th Battalion, Georgia Cavalry. When the units was consolidated he was assigned to Company D of the 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.
Pvt. Edwards was present through September '64 and had lost his horse. On October 1, 1864 he was killed in action.
