Berdine D. Latty, eldest son of Caleb Oliver Latty, was born 1845 in Hall County, Ga. He enlisted in "Hopkin's Rangers", Co. C, 24th Battalion, Georgia Cavalry on June 3, 1863.

Through consolidation of units he was transferred to Co. D, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry on Feb. 13, 1864. On the September/October 1864 muster roll he was listed as "Present, without a horse".

Private Berdine D. Latty died under unknown circumstances in 1865. His burial place is also unknown.
