J.C. Rogers enlisted September 15, 1862 in Hall County. He served in the 24th Battalion, Georgia Cavalry, Co. C until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. D, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.

Pvt. Rogers was present through July '64. He was hospitalized August 13, '64 with intermittant fever and returned to duty on August 29th. Hospitalized again October 23rd with ascites, returned to duty November 2nd. Hospitalized again from November 9th to November 12th. No more details.
