B.L. Scott enlisted December 23, 1863 at Decatur, Ga. He was in the 24th Battalion, Ga. Cav, Co C until February 13, 1864 when the 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry was organized through consolidation, Co. C of the 24th was then Co. D of the 7th.

Pvt. Scott was listed as present until being captured at Petersburg, Va. September 17, 1864. He was sent to City Point, Va. September 30th then transferred to Point Lookout, Md.

Pvt. B.L. Scott was exchanged March 17, 1865 and paroled at Point Lookout. He was then was sent to Aiken's Landing, Va. for the exchange.
