William T. Scott , of Elbert County, Ga. enlisted as a private in Co. C, Georgia Cavalry, 24th Battalion. Then through consolidation was transferred to Co. D, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.

Pvt. Scott was present on roll calls through September 29, 1864 when he was captured near Petersburg at Reams Station. He was sent to City Point, Va. then sent to Point Lookout, Md.

He was paroled at Point Lookout and exchanged November 1, 1864.

Pvt. William T. Scott surrendered April 1865 near Appomattox, Va.
