Pvt. Thornton was present at all roll calls until July when he was admitted to a hospital with acute diarrhoea. He returned to duty August the 4th of '64 and was granted a 30 day furlough.
Pvt. William Thornton was captured (no indication as to where nor when). He was released May 19, 1865. His description: hair, dark; eyes, blue; complexion, fair; height, 5 ft. 81/2 inches.
