Matthew Dixon (Matt) enlisted May 13, 1862 in Savannah with Capt. Banks. Pvt. Dixon served in the 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry, Co. B until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. E, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.
On the March/April 1864 roll, Pvt. Dixon was listed as being present. On the May/August roll, listed as absent without leave since April 18th. On the September/October roll still absent without leave.
