Isaiah R. Douglass enlisted March 31, 1864 at Savannah in Co. E, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry with Capt. Harrison.

Pvt. Douglass was listed as being present on roll calls through October. In April, records indicated that he was due pay for a recruit bounty. In the late fall of '64 he received a clothing issue.

After going with the 7th to Northern Va., Pvt. Douglass along with about 200 men of the 7th, returned to Georgia to get fresh mounts.

He was was captured in December 30,1864 in Effingham County, Ga. He was sent to Hilton Head and remained there until being released June 16, 1865.

When released, his description was listed as follows: complexion, light; hair, dark; eyes, grey; height, 5 ft. 7 1/2 inches.
