Lewis Green enlisted with Capt. Banks May 13, 1862 at Savannah. He was in Company B of the 21st Bn, Ga Cav and was transferred to Co. E, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry on February 13, 1864.

In April Pvt. Green was sick in hospial. On June 11, 1864 he was captured near Trevillian Station. He was sent to Fortress Monroe on June 20thand transferred to Elmira Proson, N.Y. July 25, 1864. He was transferred from Elmira for exchange to James River. When the exchange was complete, he was admitted to the hospital in Richmond on March 2, 1865.

Pvt. Lewis Green died March 14, 1865.
