On 5/13/62 he enlisted in Savannah Ga to serve under Capt. Banks. Pvt. Pace served in the 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry, Company B. In February 1864 he was assigned to Co. E. of the 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry through consolidation of units.
Pension records show he was wounded on 6/24/1864 at Salem Church, Va. A miniball shattered his elbow and after being hospitalized Warren was sent home in September 1864. He brought his wife and child to Lochloosa Fl. where his wife died 2 days after the official close to the war.
Warren Albion Pace died at 98 years old in New Smyrna Beach, Fl. on 9/26 1932. He was survived by 4 sons & 3 daughters. Warren is buried in the Tompkins Cemetery near the Lochloosa Methodist Church in Lochloosa, Fl.
