Telbert Zipperer enlisted September 23, 1863 in Macon. He served in Co. B, 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. E, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.

Pvt. Zipperer was absent a few days in April '64 just before moving to Northern Virginia. On the May/August roll he was sick. On the September/October roll he was home on Doctor's order.

On December 30th Pvt. Telbert Zipperer was captured in Effington County, Ga. He was sent to Hilton Head, S.C. on February 1, 1865. He was released June 8th at Point Lookout, Md.
