V.S. Hall enlisted June 21, 1862 at Savannah in Co. B and later Co. E, 21st Battalion, Georgia Cavalry, then on February 13, 1864 was transferred to Co. F, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.

On June 11, 1864 Pvt. Hall's horse was captured during the Battle of Trevillian Station, Va.

On October 31, '64 he was on detail for 60 days. No indication as to what detail it was.

Pvt. Hall left command March 25, 1865 to get a fresh mount. He was unable to return because the Federal army was between him and command.
