Pvt. Jackson was wounded at Nance Shop June 24, 1864. He entered Jackson Hospital at Richmond June 26th indicating the wound was of the left hip. He was transferred to Camp Wimder June 28th.

Pvt. E.H. Jackson died July 4, 1864 at Camp Winder. It was shown that his effedts totaled $31.10. His effects were listed again in November as if it had not been claimed.
