Robert R. Stone of Burke County, Georgia enlisted September 4, 1862 in Savannah with Capt. Banks. Cpl. Stone was in Co. B then E, 21st Battalion, Ga. Cav. until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. F, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.
Cpl. R.R. Stone served in the 7th for the duration of the war. He surrendered at Appomattox along with General Lee.
