In the latter days of April '64, Pvt. Wilson was furloughed for 6 days prior going to Northern Virginia.
On June 11, 1864, Pvt. Wilson was wounded during the Battle of Trevillian Station and was transported to the Exchange Hotel, Gordonsville, Va. which at the time was a Receiving Hospital. His wounds required multible extractions of foreign bodies.
On June 17th, Pvt. W.W. Wilson died from the injuries.
