William G. Nettles enlisted September 22, 1862 in Waynesville with Capt. Hopkins. Pvt. Nettles was in Co. A, 24th Battalion, Ga Cav until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. G, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.
He was present on roll calls until October '64 when listed as absent, sick.
Pvt. William G. Nettles was paroled in Thomasville on May 21, 1865.
