H.M. Burnsed enlisted in the Hardwick Mounted Rifles October 23, 1863 in Bryan County with Capt J.P. Hines signing him up. He served in Company B, HMR until the 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry was organized. Burnsed was then in Co. H of the 7th.
Pvt. Burnsed was sick quite a bit no details except in June he was in Huguenot Springs Hospital. Then in September he was on sick furlough.
