W.C. Grooms enlisted August 13, 1863 in Bryan County. He was with the Hardwick Mounted Rifles, Co.B until February 13, 1864 when the 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry was organized through consolidation, Co. B of the HMR was then Co. H of the 7th.
Pvt. Grooms was on sick furlough on August 31, 1864.
