E.M. Lake enlisted December 30, 1862 in Bryan County. He was with the Hardwick Mounted Rifles, Co. B until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. H, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.
Listed as being on roll calls and being present until the May/June roll when he was sick. No details.
He surrendered and was paroled at Augusta on May 23, 1865.
