J.M. Lane enlisted February 10, 1863 at Bryan County. He was with the Hardwick Mounted Rifles, Co. B until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. H, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.
Pvt. Lane was absent in the later part of April. He was present afterwards.
