A.J. Lee served with the Hardwick Mtd. Rifles, Co.B until the consolidation of units that formed the 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry. He was then assigned to Co. H of the 7th.

Pvt. Lee fought with the 7th for the duration of the war and surrendered with General Robert E. Lee on April 9, 1865 at Appomattox, Va..
