Jacob Barge enlisted as a private in Co. D, 24th Battalion, Georgia Cavalry and was transferred to Co. I, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry February 13, 1864.
Jacob died on January 23, 1898 and is buried at Owl Rock Methodist Church in old Campbell County outside of Atlanta.
