Frank Causey entered as a private with the 24th Battalion, Georgia Cavalry, Co. D. When the 24th and two other units were consolidated to form the 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry, Pvt. Causey was assigned to Company I of the 7th.

Frank had medical problems while with the 7th and seemed not to be able to shake them. He was sick and furloughed in April 1864 and the furlough was extended until May 15. Afterwards he was in the hospital June through August. It isn't clear what happened, but in September 1864, Pvt. Causey was listed AWOL. No further Records.
