Albert R. Shaw enlisted at Cobb County with Capt. Brumly. Pvt. Shaw was in Co. B, 24th Battalion, Ga Cav until February 13, 1864 when the 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry was organized through consolidation, Co. B of the 24th was then Co. I of the 7th.

Records show that he was present through October with the exception of being admitted to South Carolina Hospital at Richmond, Va. on June 2, 1864. In late fall of '64 there was a clothing issue where it shows that Pvt. Shaw received 1 pair of shoes.
