Richard Walker enlisted in Wayne County with Capt. Hopkins. Pvt. Walker served in the 24th Battalion, Georgia Cavalry, Companies A, C and D until, through consolidation of units, he was transferred to Co. I, 7th Regiment, Georgia Cavalry.
On May 24, 1864, Pvt. Walker was listed as absent without leave and was dropped from the roll in August. He surrendered May 16,1865 at Thomasville.
